  11. HAYES ANNOUNCES MACINTOSH PRODUCT DEVELOPMENTS

  13. ATLANTA, GA, 13 May 1991 - - Hayes Microcomputer Products, Inc. today
  14. announced upgrades to Smartcom II for the Macintosh and the
  15. introduction of the Hayes Modem Tool.  When used with the Macintosh
  16. Communications Toolbox, the Hayes Modem Tool provides users with
  17. access to the advanced features of Hayes modems.

  19. Smartcom II for the Macintosh Version 3.3 is an easy-to-use
  20. communications program that takes advantage of the power and unique
  21. graphics capabilities of all Macintosh computers.
  22.  
  23. Smartcom II for the Macintosh V3.3 now provides support for connection
  24. tools through the Macintosh Communications Toolbox.  This enhancement
  25. allows Smartcom II for the Macintosh to use all connection tools
  26. developed for this interface.

  28. Other Smartcom II for the Macintosh V3.3 features include Sliding
  29. Windows Kermit and CompuServe B Plus file transfer protocols as well as
  30. ANSI.SYS, a terminal emulation that is commonly used on bulletin board
  31. systems that include full color and IBM PC graphics character support.

  33. Written to the specifications of the Macintosh Communications Toolbox,
  34. the Hayes Modem Tool can be used without modification by any program
  35. which supports the Toolbox.

  37. Smartcom II for the Macintosh V3.3 will be available in June 1991 for
  38. the estimated retail price of US$149, CN$199, UK£99 and HK$1300.  For

  42. The Hayes Modem Tool will be available in June 1991.  It will be
  43. packaged with "Hayes for the Mac " products and available on the Hayes
  44. BBS.  It will also be available for redistribution by developers for a
  45. one year renewable license fee of US$250.
